NIS Extends UK Passport Exercise to October 30 Over High Demand

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has extended its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom to October 30, 2026, following high turnout and sustained demand from Nigerians seeking passport services.
The extended exercise will run from October 6 to October 30, 2026, giving more Nigerians in the UK additional time to access the intervention programme.
The NIS said the extension was approved following a directive from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in response to the continued demand for passport services.
The special intervention exercise was introduced to help Nigerians in the UK access passport enrolment and related services more easily.
Applicants are advised to follow the official appointment and application procedures communicated by the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria High Commission in the UK.
The Nigeria High Commission has also warned Nigerians to rely only on information released through its authorised channels, following the circulation of inaccurate information about fees and the intervention exercise.
The latest extension follows an earlier extension announced in September, when the NIS moved the deadline for the London and Manchester intervention from September 19 to October 3 because of high demand.
Nigerians in the UK seeking to use the intervention are therefore encouraged to check the official NIS and Nigeria High Commission platforms for the latest appointment details and participating locations.
