Dangote Foundation Offers Free Refinery Shares to Nigerian Students

The Aliko Dangote Foundation has launched a new initiative that will allow eligible Nigerian students to receive additional shares in Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE at no extra cost.
Under the Student Share Grant Initiative, Nigerian students aged 18 and above can qualify for 10 additional refinery shares after subscribing for a minimum of 10 shares through the ongoing Initial Public Offering.
The programme is open to students of recognised public and private tertiary institutions across Nigeria and is designed to promote financial literacy and encourage young Nigerians to gain practical experience in investing.
According to the foundation, eligible students must first complete the required verification process through its designated platform before proceeding to subscribe for the minimum 10 refinery shares.
Once the requirements are met, the foundation will fund an application for an additional 10 shares in the student’s name at no extra cost.
The initiative is part of the foundation’s efforts to expose young Nigerians to investment, savings and long-term asset ownership.
Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the foundation, said supporting young people should go beyond education and include giving them opportunities to participate in economic growth and wealth creation.
The foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Zouera Youssoufou, said the programme would combine financial education with practical experience by allowing students to go through the process of verification, subscription and eventual ownership.
The foundation stressed that participation is voluntary and should not be interpreted as investment advice or a recommendation to buy the refinery shares.
It also stated that the grant cannot be used to purchase shares for another person, another Dangote company or any other company.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO, which opened on September 14, offers shares at ₦525 each, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares. The offer is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026, subject to the terms of the prospectus.
