INEC Publishes Preliminary Voters’ Register Online Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made the preliminary register of voters for the 2027 general elections available online, giving Nigerians another opportunity to verify their voter information ahead of the polls.
The move follows concerns about public access to the register after the commission conducted a physical display of voters’ details at registration areas nationwide.
The exercise is intended to help registered voters check their particulars and identify possible errors or omissions before the final register is certified.
INEC said the online platform would complement the earlier physical display exercise and improve accessibility for voters who may have difficulty visiting designated locations.
Registered voters can visit the commission’s dedicated portal at https://display.inecnigeria.org to check the preliminary register for their polling units.
The inspection process allows voters to identify discrepancies in their information and follow the commission’s prescribed procedures for raising claims or objections.
INEC is expected to process submissions arising from the inspection exercise before finalising the register for the 2027 general elections.
The publication of the preliminary register is part of the commission’s preparations for the next general elections and its efforts to promote transparency and public confidence in the electoral process.
Registered voters are encouraged to verify their details and follow official INEC guidance if they discover any errors.
As preparations for the 2027 elections continue, access to accurate voter information remains an important part of ensuring that eligible Nigerians can participate in the electoral process.
