Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote’s estimated wealth has reportedly risen to $51.3 billion following a major revaluation of his refinery holdings, according to reports citing Forbes.
The development adds approximately $20 billion to his estimated fortune and places him as the 36th richest person in the world, according to the reported Forbes ranking.
The increase is linked to the valuation of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals following a private placement completed in July. The transaction reportedly placed a significantly higher value on the refinery, leading to a reassessment of Dangote’s stake in the business.
The development comes as Dangote Refinery moves forward with plans to expand its operations and increase its production capacity from 700,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day.
The refinery has also opened its shares to public investors in a major offering aimed at supporting its expansion plans.
Dangote’s latest wealth milestone highlights the growing importance of his investments in Nigeria’s industrial and energy sectors.
However, billionaire wealth estimates can change with asset valuations and market conditions.
