Anambra Police Arrest Woman Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of 7-Year-Old Daughter, Claims Video Was AI-Generated

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, in connection with an alleged case of child sexual abuse and child pornography in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The arrest followed the circulation of a disturbing video online which allegedly showed a woman sexually abusing a minor. According to the police, officers acted on information gathered through open-source intelligence concerning the material before arresting the suspect on the evening of September 10, 2026.
Police Rescue Four Children
Reports identify the minor allegedly involved in the video as the suspect’s 7-year-old daughter.
During the operation, police reportedly rescued four children aged two, three, six and nine. Officers also recovered sex toys and other items which have been described as potentially relevant to the ongoing investigation.
The rescued children have reportedly been placed under appropriate protection while authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
Woman Denies Allegation, Claims Video Was AI-Generated
The suspect has reportedly denied the allegations, maintaining that the videos circulating online were generated using artificial intelligence.
However, there has been no confirmation from the police that the material is AI-generated. Investigators are expected to establish whether the video is authentic and determine the circumstances surrounding its creation, circulation and the events allegedly depicted.
The distinction is important because the authenticity of the material could be central to determining what actually occurred and whether any criminal offence was committed.
Husband Also Questioned
The woman’s husband is also reportedly being questioned by investigators as authorities seek to establish whether he had any knowledge of, or connection to, the alleged incident.
The suspect remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has directed that the matter be thoroughly investigated. He also ordered that the rescued children receive appropriate care and protection.
Police Urge Protection of the Children’s Identities
Authorities have stressed the need to protect the identities and privacy of the children involved in the case.
The circulation of alleged abuse material involving a child can cause further harm to the victim or alleged victim. Members of the public are therefore advised not to share, repost or circulate the video or any material that could identify the children.
Investigation Ongoing
At this stage, the allegations against the suspect have not been proven in court. Her claim that the videos were generated using artificial intelligence also remains an allegation from her side and has not been independently established.
The investigation is expected to determine the authenticity of the material, the circumstances surrounding its production and circulation, and whether any criminal offence was committed.
Until the investigation and any subsequent court proceedings establish the facts, the suspect should be regarded as innocent unless proven guilty according to law.
